J started learning how to DJ back in February 2004 when he bought his
first set of decks and by September he was made Plush resident,
something that he's still proud about to this day.
From there on, J has
never really looked back and has gone on to play at some of the best
venues in and around Manchester as well as playing with some of the
finest DJ's on the house scene.
J plays all across the board with regards to his music style and is one
of the most versatile DJ's around, be it a funky, vocal set or a dirty house/electro set, he's sure to always come up with the goods. His
passion and love for the music and for Djing is reflected in all his
sets and this is his motivation.
Away from Plush, J has other residencies at some of Manchester's most
exclusive nights, including 'We call it House', Venus and Disco
Electronica - residencies which most DJ's would be proud to have. His versatility
is shown in the nights in which he plays, from Venus, which is a funky,
more vocal night to the likes of Goodgreef whom he has played for on
various occasions where he plays dirty house and electro.
J has played at some of the best venues in the Northwest including
Ampersands, North, Venus, Sankeys, Music Box, Space (Leeds) and
Garlands, Society and Jaxx in Liverpool, where he played for In bed
with Space. Away from England J has also played in Ibiza, where he
played a 3 hour set at Bora Bora, As well as playing at Kanya and Plastik.
As mentioned, J has also been fortunate enough to play alongside some
of the finest DJ's and producers in the industry such as Raul Rincon,
Jonathan Ulysees, Ian Carey, Oliver Lang, Jon Fitz, Trophy Twins, Alex
P, John Kelly and Graham Park, as well as many others.
The last 12 months have seen J progress at a very fast rate and he is
now regarded as one of the best DJ's in the area (By his Mum!) and has
been tipped as one to watch in the next few years.
J has also just started a production course and wants to one day, be
able to produce his own tunes and if his rise in the DJ world is
anything to go by then it may be in the not too distant future!!! |
