Filthy Rich - a wealth of high-octane house music!
A wise man once said that the best DJ's are good 70% of the time and outstanding 30% of the time. This is certainly true of Filthy Rich - always consistently good and sometimes blisteringly outstanding!
This consistency was developed in the early days of Rich's career through an incredibly intense diary which would have him charging from pre-party, to club, to club, to after party where he would usually be found straight on the dance floor after his set till the early hours immersed in house music!! It was this frenetic pace and multitude of gigs which allowed Rich to build a loyal following which has been growing and growing to this very day.
Due to Rich's versatile nature it is difficult to define his sound as he often delves into different aspects of the house spectrum. However, expect his sets to contain anything from minimal blissed-out beats right through to jackin' house and electro. Since the arrival of some of the new technology available to DJ's now, Rich has really been pushing his sound forward; looping, distorting and scratching his way through his sets with seamless mixing, often incorporating special edits of tracks for good measure! This has resulted in his lively interactive style gaining respect from his Djing peers, party goers around the world and most notably Mixmag who awarded Rich with their prestigious 'Future Hero' tag.
Rich's three main residencies are some of the best in the UK - First up is Kiss Da Funk which is undoubtedly one of the finest and fastest growing nights in the UK boasting a fine resident roster including; the Trophy Twins and Rob Tissera as well as regular top-notch guests. Second is a clubbing institution, none other than the mighty Gatecrasher, which now includes their brand new multi-million pound venue Discothèque. Last but not least is Rich's newest residency - Neighbourhood where Rich has already found himself playing before and after such household names as: Mylo, Derrick Carter, Tim Sheridan and Andy Cato from Groove Armada.
As if this wasn't enough you can find Rich charging all over the UK and beyond every weekend guesting at the likes of: The Gallery, Puscha, Ministry Of Sound, Pukka Up, Wildchild, Turnmills, Seven Sins, Garlands, Dusted
On the production side of things Rich is going from strength to strength and really developing as an artist with each turbo charged release. Having already produced several house monsters such as the highly revered 'Dirty Freak' (played by everyone from Fergie to Steve Lawler.) 2006 looks like bringing more of the same.
Seamus Haji will be unleashing a special Filthy Rich EP on his label Big Love as well as a Dirty Freaks EP (Rich's alter ego with his production partner Danny Armstrong).
A host of Rich's other productions will also be featured on the forthcoming Electro-Love CD due for release early in the year.
Push it Harder and Lapdance will be appearing on Max Graham's imprint Shine. Chain-smoking, a James Zabiela favourite, has been signed to Oven Ready and will be unleashed with a Mike Monday remix.
Rich's latest track, 'It's Like That' has already been signed to UMM and will be getting the remix treatment from the likes of Deepgroove and Funkagenda. Through all of these productions Rich is really beginning to form his own sound, which can be seen first hand at his new night Audio Nasty. The night is designed to showcase a selection of the finest cutting edge, electronic music, mashed up through 2 decks, 4 CDJ's, 2EFX units, Samplers and a Digital Mixer - full on to say the least!
With plenty more in the pipeline 2006 is already shaping up to be another action packed year for Rich - get ready for more blistering sets and high octane house music of the filthy variety! |
